Meet the Team
Corrine Voils, PhD
Principal Investigator
Dr. Voils earned a PhD in experimental social psychology and completed a two-year fellowship in health services research. She is a Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation professor in Surgery and holds a dual appointment as a Research Career Scientist at the William S. Middleton Memorial Hospital. Her primary area of research is identifying ways to help people achieve long-term weight loss. She is the principal investigator for Partner2Lose.
Kara Gavin, PhD
Assistant Scientist
Dr. Gavin completed her PhD in social and behavioral epidemiology and a post-doctoral fellowship focused on health behavior change and cancer prevention and control. Her role on the Partner2Lose study is primarily centered on intervention fidelity and quality control.
Beth Jeanes, MS
Assistant Researcher
Beth is an exercise physiologist with 10 years of research experience. Her role on the Partner2Lose study is the development and delivery of the physical activity component in addition to project coordination and compliance.
Whitney Sharp, MPH, RD
Assistant Researcher
Whitney is a Registered Dietician with experience delivering nutrition education to a variety of populations. Whitney leads group classes and facilitates discussions around attainable techniques regarding healthy eating, lifestyle changes and goal setting. She provides support for participants to develop personalized strategies so they can achieve long-term success and experience the positive benefits of a balanced diet and physical activity.
Alice Yuroff, PhD
WREN Coordinator
Alice is a research coordinator who meets with participants to complete their screening and enrollment visit and to complete data collection visits at 6, 12, 18 and 24 months. Read more.
Armaan Shetty
Student Worker
Armaan is an undergraduate student at UW-Madison and is currently studying Neurobiology and Psychology. He has many different roles on the study team, such as scheduling reminders for phone calls, data entry and transfer, and creating tutorials on how to use the various technology tools utilized in the program.
